Not sure which pathway applies to you?
An initial consultation helps clarify your options before any commitment is made. We take the time to understand your situation and give you a candid picture of the path ahead.
Why Suria Legal
The way we work
Honest eligibility assessment
Before any engagement, we review your profile against current policy. If the pathway isn't a fit, we tell you directly rather than proceed with an application that may not succeed.
Plain language throughout
Immigration documentation uses technical terminology. Our briefings translate every step into plain English so you can plan your move with confidence, not confusion.
Realistic timeline guidance
We do not overstate how quickly applications move. We share what the current processing environment looks like and help you plan around it, rather than around optimistic estimates.
Family applications handled together
Dependant tracks for spouses and children are coordinated alongside the principal application, reducing the chance of mismatched documentation or staggered approvals.
Written updates at every stage
You receive written summaries at each milestone — not just verbal updates. This gives you a clear record and makes it easier to inform your employer or family members.
Based at KLCC
Our office at Menara Maxis places us within walking distance of the Expatriate Services Division and key government liaison offices, which helps when in-person matters arise.
Common Questions
Frequently asked questions
How long does an Employment Pass application typically take?
Processing times through the Expatriate Services Division currently range from four to ten weeks depending on the category and the completeness of the submission. Some applications attract additional scrutiny based on sector or salary band. We share our current read on timelines at the outset of each engagement.
Can my spouse and children come with me under the Employment Pass?
Yes. Dependant Pass applications for spouses and children under 18 are filed alongside or shortly after the principal application. We coordinate the document sets together and include school enrolment documentation where it is needed.
Has the MM2H programme changed recently?
The programme underwent a significant revision in 2021, and further adjustments to the tiered structure have followed since. The financial thresholds are meaningfully higher than they were before 2021. We review current criteria at the start of each enquiry so we are working from the most up-to-date policy position.
I am starting a company in Malaysia. Which visa route should I consider?
The answer depends on the nature of your business, your ownership structure, and whether you are seeking to leverage programmes like MTEP or MDEC's Malaysia Digital status. Our business visa structuring advisory maps out how your corporate decisions interact with the available immigration pathways before you commit to a direction.
What documents will I typically need to prepare?
The document list varies by pass type and applicant profile. Common requirements include a valid passport, recent passport photographs, educational qualifications, employment contract or offer letter, tax clearance or financial statements, and a medical report. We provide a detailed checklist at the start of each engagement.
What does your advisory fee cover?
Our fees cover the full advisory engagement — eligibility review, document checklist, preparation support, submission coordination, and liaison with the relevant authority through to collection. Government fees payable directly to the Immigration Department or ESD are separate and will be communicated clearly before you proceed.
